Thursday, March 21, 2019 — Day B

1) Birthdays Today – March 21st…Taniza Hannon, Madison Maus.

2) On Thursday, March 28th from 6-9 p.m., Loras College Dance Marathon is having another fundraiser. The fundraiser is $15 dollars in advanced and $20 at the door for a three hour jump at Vertical Jump in the mail.

3) 7th and 8th grade boys and girls track sign up will be in the cafeteria. Track will start April 1st, students must have a physical on file to participate.

4) LEAP…Thursday, March 21st: Homework Help. Friday, March 22nd …There will be NO LEAP.

5) 8th grade baseball players planning to play at Hempstead this summer, this is a reminder we will have our parent player meeting on April 1st at 6 p.m. in the Hempstead High School cafeteria. It is important for players to be there to complete impact testing with our athletic trainer.

6) All students are encouraged to clean out their lockers. Please take home extra clothing and throw away any unwanted item.

3) 6th, 7th and 8th grade band students will attend the band festival at Hempstead from 9 to 11:30 a.m. today.

1) Birthdays Today – March 7th…Katelyn Brokus, Haylee Goodman.

2) LRC will be closed 8th and 9th periods this week.

3) Tomorrow we will host our mini Dance Marathon. The cost is $4. There will be many activities, Jenga, Karaoke, Basketball, Capture the Flag and Dancing. We will also have ice cream, pizza, gatorade and chips. Last year more than 11,500 patients from Dubuque County were seen at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

4) 6th grade basketball will be starting next week. Students must have a physical on file. You can sign up in the lunchroom.

5) LEAP…Thursday, March 7th: Yoga with Molly Schreiber. NO HOMEWORK HELP on Thursday. Friday, March 8th: School Dance from 3:00 until 5:00.

6) Are you interested in Civil Rights and making a difference in the world? Join us tonight, Thursday March 7, for a presentation by Judy Richardson who is a civil rights activist, educator and documentary filmmaker. During her presentation, Judy will share stories of the Civil Rights Movement’s lesser-known heroes — “ordinary” people who were courageous and strong activists and leaders. If you’re interested, please see Ms. Thimmesch in room 207 today. Transportation and the event are free!

1) Birthdays Today – March 5th…Anthony Fuerst.

2) LRC will be closed 8th and 9th periods this week. The LRC will be closed all day today.

3) This Friday, March 8th we will be hosting our own mini Dance Marathon sponsored by Loras College. The cost of the dance is $4. Money raised will go to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Last year, UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital cared for 71,754 patients from every county in Iowa.

4) 6th grade basketball will be starting next week. Students must have a physical on file. You can sign up in the lunchroom.

5) Young Citizen’s Forum will be release at 8:30 and will return around 1:30.

6) LEAP…Tuesday, March 5th: Kids N Canvas with Brandi Burnell. Wednesday, March 6th: Nail Polishing with Sharon from Carnegie-Stout; 20 students max. Dogs with Kelsey from the Dbq Humane Society; 20 students max. Thursday, March 7th: Yoga with Molly Schreiber. NO HOMEWORK HELP on Thursday. Friday, March 8th: School Dance from 3:00 until 5:00.

2) Attention musical cast and crew! We are doing a second t-shirt order. Your order form and money need to be turned in today, March 4th by 2:30 p.m. No exceptions!

3) Sports Today – Boys Red Basketball…Jefferson Red vs. Washington Blue. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Washington; both games begin at 4 p.m.

4) LRC will be closed 8th and 9th periods this week. The LRC will be closed all day on Tuesday.

5) Battle of the Books meeting today during homebase. Team members should report to the LRC after attendance is taken.

6) Remember the new schedule starting today, adding additional 25 minutes to the school day.
