1) Birthdays Today – April 5th…Alissa Gilden, Myshawn Hubbard Conners.
2) LEAP Activities Today…Homework Help.
3) Hempstead Cheerleading Tryouts are coming Tuesday, April 20th. There will be 3 mandatory practices on Monday, April 12th; Tuesday, April 13th; and Monday, April 19th from 4 to 6:30 p.m. There is also a mandatory Parent/Athlete Meeting on Monday, April 12th at 6:30 p.m.
4) TJMS began our 2nd annual Ronald McDonald House pop tab collection just a few short weeks ago. TJ and Bryce have been hard at work weighing the pop tabs by cohort the last two weeks. Today we have our first total collection announcement in total weight along with the top 3 cohorts! In third place we have Mr. Boeve’s cohort with 37.439 pounds. In second place we have Mrs. Nagreens cohort with 50.876 pounds. In first place we have Mr. Sudtegte’s cohort with 69.979 pounds. Congratulations in your current standing Boeve, Nagreen, and Sudtegte! Now for the school’s current total…our goal was 230 pounds. This pays for a one-night stay for a family whose child is in the hospital. On our first collect we have passed that…by 100 pounds! Our current total is 331.927 pounds. Our next collection date will be April 19-21st. Thank you to all the teachers and students that had the bags and containers labeled. Someone will be coming around this week to delivery those back to you! If any staff or students have a very large donation, please make arrangements for drop off to make it easier on everyone! Great job TJMS, your effort will directly help a family in eastern Iowa! Keep collecting.
