3) Attention softball players: If any 8th graders are interested in playing softball for Hempstead High School this summer, there will be an informational meeting on Thursday, April 22nd in Hempstead’s cafeteria. The meeting will start at 6pm. Thank you, and Go Mustangs!

4) 8th graders who will be attending Hempstead in the fall and are thinking about playing football, there is an introduction to our strength and conditioning program at Hempstead. One day will focus on our weightlifting program and the other day will focus on our speed and agility portion. Every Monday and Thursday from April 19th to May 27th, these sessions will run from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hempstead High School. Coach Hoerner or another coach will meet you at the Event Entrance on the back side of the building. These sessions will be an opportunity for our incoming Freshman Football Players to get an introduction to our strength and conditioning program and be ready to start our High School program when that begins on June 7. At the same time it will be a chance to get to know who you will be playing with next year as well as getting to know some of the coaches and upperclassmen in the program. There is no cost for these sessions! No need to sign up, just show up! If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to Coach Hoerner: Jehoerner@dbqschools.org

5) Reminder that Hempstead is holding open gyms for volleyball (8th Grades) on Mondays and Wednesday through May 1st from 7 to 9 p.m.

6) This week we will have our 2nd collection for pop tabs. Circle teachers please make sure you have your containers labeled clearly so we know who to give credit to. 8th graders will be around Wednesday and Thursday during 8th grade success time to collect. Thanks again to everyone who has been collecting to help the Ronald McDonald House.
