Mission: The mission of Thomas Jefferson Middle School is to ensure high academic, social, and emotional growth for all students to support present and future success.
Vision: We will demonstrate a personal commitment to the academic success and social-emotional well-being of each student.
Collective Commitments: In order to achieve the shared vision of Thomas Jefferson Middle School, as a staff we make the following collaborative commitments:
- Focus on both academic and social-emotional growth and success for all students.
- Work together—interdependently—in collaborative teams.
- Seek and implement highly-effective strategies for improving student learning on a continuous basis.
- Monitor each student’s progress frequently by using formative and summative assessment data.
- Initiate individual and small-group instructional programs to provide additional learning time, both remediation and enrichment, for all students.
School Goals:
- By May 2026, we will increase the percentage of Jefferson students achieving their annual typical growth in reading as measured by the spring iReady diagnostic by 10% in designated subgroups (Black/African American, EL, multi-racial, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, IEP).
- By May 2026, we will increase the percentage of Jefferson students achieving their annual typical growth in math as measured by the spring iReady diagnostic by 10% in designated subgroups (Black/African American, EL, multi-racial, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, IEP).
- By May 2026, we will reduce the percentage of Jefferson students who are categorized as severely chronically absent by 5%.
- By May 2026, all CLCs will complete a data analysis on every common summative assessment to identify students who need additional support and enrichment on district identified essential content standards.
- By May 2026, all staff will implement with fidelity tier 1 and tier 2 behavior and college and career ready skills in their respective content areas measured through a decrease in school-wide referrals by 10%.
