1) Friday, August 28, 2020 is an early release due to excessive heat. The 1 hour late start is cancelled.
2) Birthdays Today – August 28th…Matthew Snyder, Elyse PhendVasquez. August 29th…Brandon Puccio, Julie Leban.
3) Hybrid (A) Athletes begin 7th and 8th Grade Football, 7th and 8th Grade Volleyball and 7th and 8th Grade Cross Country on Monday, August 31st after school. 7th and 8th grade football will meet on the back field. 7th grade volleyball will meet in the South Gym and 8th grade volleyball will meet in the North Gym. 7th and 8th grade cross country will meet in Room 07. A physical must be on file in the office to participate. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Haverland.
4) In an effort to maintain appropriate social distancing, spectator seating will be limited for all Hempstead and Senior sophomore/varsity football games this year at Dalzell Field. Therefore, unless you have a family member participating in the game and have received a “limited-spectator event pass” you will NOT have the opportunity to attend Friday night football games this year. Elementary and middle school students who have a “limited-spectator event pass” and will be attending the game MUST sit with their family and wear a mask.
5) This message is for all Band/Orchestra/Choir students. 7th-8th Band/Orchestra/Choir and 6th Band/Orchestra begin on Monday, Aug 31. 6th Grade Choir does not meet. They will start at a later date. 7th-8th ensembles meet at the beginning of the day, and 6th band/orchestra meet during the middle of the day. All 7th-8th Band/Orchestra/Choir students should pick up their grab-and-go breakfast and head directly to their music ensemble. Choir meets in the auditorium, and band/orchestra meet downstairs in the music rooms.
