Monday, March 28, 2022 – Day B

1) Birthdays Today – March 28th…No birthdays today.

2) Wish Miss Bradley a happy birthday today.

3) Today’s Monday message is connected with, “The Time is Now” which is part of our 7 Mindsets curriculum. “Your mission, goals, and objectives should be aligned with your present actions and where you see yourself in the future.” -Germany Kent We are nearing the end of the school year and I think this is an excellent time of year to reflect on this quote. What do you see yourself doing in the future? Are your grades where they need to be? Is your attendance as good as it should be? Are the habits you have today leading you closer to that goal, or are they leading you in a different direction? The time is now for you to strengthen your efforts. Be sure to let your teachers and staff know how they can help you on your journey.

4) We will begin ISASP testing this week. We have the Reading test tomorrow and the Math test on Thursday. Because the tests begin right away in the morning, it’s even more important that you arrive at school on time. Plan to be here no later than 7:30 a.m. For the ISASP tests, be sure to bring your computer to school fully charged. Reminder, cell phones & smart watches are not allowed to be out during the testing sessions.

5) Congratulations to Jada Pickett and Aaliyah Peterson for winning the 6th grade T-Shirt Design Contest. Both students will receive a free t-shirt.

6) LEAP for today…Homework Help, Gaming Unplugged, All About Arts, GSA.

2) Wish Haley Ehrich a happy birthday today.

3) Today’s Monday message is provided by Josh Tobias and Jaycob Kohn. They shared the following quote which they included in their presentation in Mrs. Canfield’s 7-Mindsets class. “Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you.” – Katie Reed As we finish the school year, be sure to take care of your physical and emotional health.

4) Right before Spring Break, I sent you an email about refocusing on three key Jefferson expectations. The first of which is about wearing lanyards and IDs The Jefferson handbook states…Each student will receive an ID card and lanyard at the beginning of the school year. ID cards are to be worn on a lanyard daily. ID’s are needed for students to wear hats/hoods, go to the library, counselor, nurse, or office. They will also be required at lunch, dances, etc. ID’s which are damaged or lost, can be replaced in the main office for $3.00. (Lanyards: $2.00) You can also use10 Hillsbills to purchase both. In the future, we will also be talking about cell phone expectations and getting to class on time. More to come…

5) Track begins today, March 21st. You must have a physical on file in the main office to participate. Contact Mrs. Haverland if you have any questions.

6) LEAP for today…Homework Help, Gaming Unplugged, All About Arts, GSA.

Make a Difference: The quickest and easiest way to feel better and become happier is to help someone. You can start today by making a difference in every little way you can. Smile more, say please and thank you, and tell people you appreciate them every day. I thought this was timely due to last Friday’s dance supporting the Children’s Hospital in Iowa City in which we raised $400!
