Thomas Jefferson Middle School Announcements

Tuesday, March 8, 2022 – Day A

1) Birthdays Today – March 7th…Alysa Arneson.

2) Today’s Monday message centers around, “Live to Give” which is, as you know, one of the themes in our 7-Mindsets lessons. Make a Difference: The quickest and easiest way to feel better and become happier is to help someone. You can start today by making a difference in every little way you can. Smile more, say please and thank you, and tell people you appreciate them every day. I thought this was timely due to last Friday’s dance supporting the Children’s Hospital in Iowa City in which we raised $400! Also, today, we are kicking off our pop-top competition in support of the Ronald McDonald House also in Iowa City. Be sure to bring in your pop-tops to your Circles teacher. The Circles class with the most pop-tops is going to win a pizza party!

3) All 6th grade boys and girls…Basketball will begin today after school in the North Gym.

4) The Hempstead Cheerleaders are hosting a cheer camp on Thursday, March 10 from 4:40-8:30 for interested 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Snitkey in the 7th grade hallway.

5) The school Battle of the Books competition will be held tomorrow. The winners of the battle will move on to the district battle in April. Good luck to all the battle teams!

6) The Musical is looking for 4 to 8 highly responsible students to work on the backstage crew. There will be an interview process. Only students with passing grades and trustworthy behavior should apply. Crew members need to attend after-school rehearsals every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. No exceptions. Email Mrs. Duggan if you meet these qualifications and are interested.

7) LEAP for today…Homework Help, Hillhawk Helpers, Chess Club
