  • Dance/Activity Night is tomorrow, February 14th. This is the Loras Dance Marathon dance.  The cost of the dance is $4.00 and Hills Bills cannot be used.  Money made from the dance will go toward the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.  If you have had an out of school or in school suspension or 4 and more referrals, you will not be able to attend.

  • Start saving your pop tabs for our 2nd annual service project for the Ronald McDonald House. You can bring any pop tabs that you have to your circle/mindsets group and put them in the little Ronald McDonald House. Please ask your family and friends to help save with you, as we are looking to collect 470 pounds of pop tabs this year.
  • Sports Today – Boys Red Basketball…Jefferson Red vs. Mazzuchelli Blue. 7th grade at Jefferson and 8th grade at Mazzuchelli; both games begin at 4 p.m.

  • February is “Following Directions” Month…As a PBIS school, Jefferson staff will be focusing on teaching the skill of “How to Follow Directions”. Most of the Jefferson students know the 3 steps to following directions, so now we need to take it to the next level. Generalize the 3 steps by using the skill in your classes, hallways, community, and any other place that a direction is given. Staff will be teaching the lessons in classes through-out the month of February. Staff will also be handing out Hills Bills to students that are able to meet the expectation of generalizing following directions in classes and at Jefferson. The focus for February is “How to Follow Directions”…Make February Fabulous by Following Directions.
  • February is Black History Month. Starting today, Wednesday, 2/5, we will have a trivia question announced at the start of the day. The question will also be televised on the TVs in the hallway and cafeteria. Once you know the answer please email your answer to Mrs. Zillig @ szillig@dbqschools.org. This will allow us to have a time stamp for the correct answers and choose the winners. We will have daily winners and then the daily winner’s names will be put in a drawing for weekly/monthly winner. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Runde, Ms. Cooper, Mrs. Zillig or talk to one of the Hill Hawk Helpers.
