Monday, April 25, 2022 – Day A

1) Last week, we discussed “Perseverance” which is the ability to push through the rough spots to get to a better place. Today’s Monday Message ties in with that and comes from our 7-Mindsets curriculum. Take a moment to ask yourself, “Are your actions moving you toward your dreams or are they distracting you from the life you want?” If what you are doing is getting closer to your dreams, GREAT! Keep it up! However, if you find your actions are getting in the way of your dreams, now is the time to make changes. Refocus on doing well in your classes and coming to school on time every day are two things you can do to help make your dreams a reality.

2) Today’s Monday message is from “Get in the Zone”, which is one of our Mindsets units. I encourage you to, “Think before you act. If you think you may be angry or about to say something or do something maybe you shouldn’t, pause and take a minute. Visualize how you should act or what you should say and put your mind in a happy place before you act. If we act while we are angry, we may make the situation worse”. It’s okay to make a mistake. It’s what happens after the mistake that is incredibly important. Reach out to a trusted adult to help you get your mind and emotions back in check.

2) The end of the school year is getting closer, and this can be a stressful time for many students. How do you handle stress? Do you have any strategies that work for you? Some things you can try to help deal with stress include:

1.) Relax your muscles, 2.) Deep Breathe, 3.) Slow Down, 4.) Sleep, 5.) Talk About Your Problems. You have a lot to do before the end of the school year, but we believe in your abilities. Your teachers are here to help you along the way.

1) Birthdays Today – March 28th…No birthdays today.

2) Wish Miss Bradley a happy birthday today.

3) Today’s Monday message is connected with, “The Time is Now” which is part of our 7 Mindsets curriculum. “Your mission, goals, and objectives should be aligned with your present actions and where you see yourself in the future.” -Germany Kent We are nearing the end of the school year and I think this is an excellent time of year to reflect on this quote. What do you see yourself doing in the future? Are your grades where they need to be? Is your attendance as good as it should be? Are the habits you have today leading you closer to that goal, or are they leading you in a different direction? The time is now for you to strengthen your efforts. Be sure to let your teachers and staff know how they can help you on your journey.

4) We will begin ISASP testing this week. We have the Reading test tomorrow and the Math test on Thursday. Because the tests begin right away in the morning, it’s even more important that you arrive at school on time. Plan to be here no later than 7:30 a.m. For the ISASP tests, be sure to bring your computer to school fully charged. Reminder, cell phones & smart watches are not allowed to be out during the testing sessions.

5) Congratulations to Jada Pickett and Aaliyah Peterson for winning the 6th grade T-Shirt Design Contest. Both students will receive a free t-shirt.

6) LEAP for today…Homework Help, Gaming Unplugged, All About Arts, GSA.
