Thomas Jefferson Middle School Announcements

Monday, February 14, 2022 – Day A

1) Valentine’s Birthdays – February 14th…Quentin Meyer, Kyle Link, Aubrey Kelly, Kiera Purchase.

2) The quote selected this week’s Monday Message is from a man who needs no introduction. The following quote by Dr. King resonates with me in that it talks about seeing the humanity in others. It is only through connecting with each other that we will find unity and peace. Please take a few moments to read the quote and think about the message being shared. Dr. King observed, “Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everybody blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and make brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends by destroying itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.”
