1) Birthdays – January 31st…No student birthdays today. Wish Katherine Christiansen a happy birthday today.

2) Tomorrow is the start of Black History month, and I would like to highlight just a few of the people this month who I have found inspirational. I too have always dreamed of going to space and feel a connection to the words of Dr. Jemison. “Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.” This quote highlights a major reason why this may be true: we often feel weighed down by what others think. There have always been certain things that people view as unorthodox or out of ordinary. However, she remained steadfast and accomplished her goal while leaving us with an inspirational treasure through her words.

2) Our Monday message is building on our theme of being our B.E.S.T. – Behavior – Effort – Self-Discipline – and Together. As we go through our day, each of us interacts and affects those around us. Helen Keller, who’s a famous author, wrote, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. Yes, you need to do the work, but you are not alone.
