0) Birthdays Today – September 6th…Clayton Lueck, Kierra Lueck.

1) Today is our first turn-in for the fundraiser. All the money raised goes back to the students. From today forward, we will have student turn-in money every Monday and Thursday for the month of September. After the announcements, we ask students who have money to turn in, please come down to the LRC. Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Beatty will be there to receive and record the sales. Students who sell at least 3 cards will get a delicious treat during lunch tomorrow. Students who sell 10 or more will receive multiple tasty treats. Remember, the top 2 Sucess time classes AND the top 20 sellers will be going on the American Lady cruise. Lunch is provided as you cruise around on the Mississippi River. Thursday is our next turn-in. Thank you all for your support!

2) 6th grade track starts next week. Girls will start on Monday, September 12th and will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays. The boys will start on Tuesday, September 13th and will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students should meet in room 223 (Mrs. Steepleton’s room).

3) Sign up is this week for students interested in joining Choir. 6th grade students will meet in the Auditorium at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, September 7th. 7th and 8th grade students will meet in the Music Room at 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 8th.

4) Reminder…Check your school email. School pictures will be taken on Thursday, September 8th. If you want to pick up a picture packet, please stop by the main office. Pictures can also be purchased online.

5) Also coming up is our PBIS activity: Lunch on the Lawn. It is planned for Wednesday, September 28th and I will be grilling hotdogs for all who want to join us for the picnic. The cost is only 10 Hills Bills. If you would like to participate, please pay your success teacher ASAP. The final day to pay is September 14th. Remember this will include lunch outside and activity time outside.

1) Birthdays Today – August 29th…No birthdays today.

2) Attention 7th and 8th graders: Are you interested in building a custom robot and then competing against other middle schools? If so, today, August 29th there is an informational meeting for Jefferson’s FIRST Robotics club. The meeting will be in the LRC starting right after school at 2:30 pm and will end at 3:30 pm. If you have questions, please talk with Mrs. Hernandez who is in Room 155.

3) Mr. Hitz is out today. There will be no band practice during Pd. 1 and no lessons today.

3) Here are the numbers per grade of students with 2 or less referrals as of last Friday who can still receive a free snow cone on May 26: 5/13/22. 6th grade 159 / 7th grade 128 / 8th grade 153

4) Thank you to each and every one of you for donating your pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House. As a school we were able to collect a grand total of 428lbs! We will be taking the pop tabs to the redemption center this summer and presenting a check to the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. Be sure to save your pop tabs for next year Hillhawks! Thank you, Ms. Marks for organizing this competition. Here are the final results: 5th place: Sudtelget with 26lbs, 4th place: Efferding with 42lbs, Getting an ice-cream treat – 3rd place: Tritz with 71lbs and 2nd place: Marks with 75lbs, and in 1st place getting a pizza party: Mrs. Olson with 82lbs!

2) Today’s Monday message is focused on practicing patience. Having patience means being able to wait calmly in the face of frustration or adversity. So, anywhere there is frustration or adversity, which is nearly everywhere, we have the opportunity to practice being patient. Please read the email I sent you this morning to learn more about the benefits and how to improve being patient. It is my hope that if you practice being patient with your friends and teachers, you will have a more enjoyable end to the school year.
